Hi guys - my name is Simon and this is my first Blog. In my blogs I am going to show you how to meal prep like a chef and train like a athlete - optimising your training and nutrition.
I have spent the majority of my working life in kitchens and my diet has been shocking! Rather than eating proper meals I would ‘graze’ and it wasn’t healthy. A few left over chips (not from customers plates) would be considered a meal! Chicken snittys, pizzas, creamy pastas, you name it - almost anything fried, I would eat almost daily! It didn’t help the fact that I lived right next door to a 24/7 McDonald’s either, which I would visit every second day. A combination of staff drinks, little sleep and minimal exercise, My lifestyle was the definition of unhealthy!
After a few years of feeling run down and consistently tired I knew I had to make a healthy change. In 2010 I signed up for a gym and committed 3x per week. Having no idea what I was doing, I started watching others around me and copying what they were doing! After 5 years of ‘winging it’ I decided to study my certificate 3 & 4 in Fitness.
Combining my cheffing background with my new fitness certification - I now had the tools to craft the perfect training regime and the skills to fuel my body with the right nutrients.
Fast forward a few years, I can confidently say I have the right knowledge to help those around me with healthy eating and a fun and functional training program.
